Imedi TV Finds itself Embroiled in Scandal – The Akhali Taoba reports
The Georgian daily Akhali Taoba of February 4-5 writes on the construction of the Imedi TV studio inKutaisi. Referring to the to Kutaisi-based newspaper Post-Scriptum the author of the article reports that Imedi kickstarted construction on the roof of the eight-story dwelling house without having presented to the dwellers a special paper or agreement on the right to construction.
“The dwellers are being concerned since the roof is not meant for another floor to be built upon and it might crash down and no one shoulders responsibility for it,” the Akhali Taoba reports.
The Georgian daily also focuses on the meeting held between the dwellers of the aforementioned block of flats and Kutaisi City Mayor.
“Having entered his office the City Mayor requested us to curb emotions and immediately switched to the issue, stating that it’s a priority for the country and especially for the city. If you are going to hinder us there are bodies that will be dealing with the obstruction from your side. He also added that in case we wished he would hire flats for us and pay GEL 500 for the rent and utility costs,” says the local dweller Nino Jincharadze.
She also says that they received a letter from Imedi TV apologizing the population for the discomfort they have caused and pledging reimbursement in case of any damage.
