Statement by GARB
David Mchedlidze
Some time ago the Georgian Association of Regional Broadcasters (GARB), which embrace 22 regional broadcasters, responded to the necessity of urgent examination of the draft bill worked out by the This Concerns You campaign member media outlets, NGOs and individuals.
GARB, in its statement, was displeased since the remarks and suggestions provided by regional broadcasters in regard to the amendments to be included in the draft bill were not taken into account. The final version of the draft was sent over with a delay, on May 20.
The statement by GARB was perceived by a part of the society as a separation from the draft bill working group.
We would like to show our willingness to co-operate with everyone fighting to improve media environment.
