Ninth Channel Information Service Head involved in a Car Accident

Tamar Rukhadze, Head of Ninth Channel TV-Company Information Service, is involved in the car accident that happened at the Left Embankment of Mtkvari River. The accident happened at approximately 1:30 a.m. 21 May. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Rukhadze was driving a Subaru vehicle and hit 2 pedestrians. One of the pedestrians was unharmed, but the second pedestrian Malkhaz Bichinashvili, 31, has a head trauma. Bichinashvili was transported by an ambulance to the Ingorokva Clinic ofTbilisi. Doctors report Bichinashvili is in the ER Department.
“There is a traumatic shock; skull-brain injury; stomach organs’ injuries. 7 ribs are also broken. The patient is critical,” one of the physicians told the First Channel of the Public Broadcaster.
Tamar Rukhadze is still being interrogated by the Police. According to the Head of Analytical Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Shota Utiashvili, Rukhadze is not detained, although everything depends on patient’s health condition. Last night Tamar Rukhadze and passengers of his vehicle went through drug and alcohol test, although the test result was negative.
“Investigation has been launched. Condition of the car accident victim is critical. In fact, there is no more hope he will survive. If the patient deceases, the coinciding Article will come into force,” Shota Utiashvili told media.ge.
Although, as media.ge was told by the Ingorokva Clinic press-service, medical tests are currently underway and no conclusions can be made about the patient's condition yet.
