Certified Course in New Media to be Held in Batumi

The Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA) and Transitions Online, with the support of the Open Society Georgia Foundation, are pleased to announce the opening of the registration for a free certified course in new media. The course is scheduled to be launched on September 20 with daily meetings and is going to last until October 31 with full-time trainings twice per week.

The training course participants will get aware of up-to-date experience in new media and master skills needed for the production of their own online publications.

The training made up of theoretical and hands-on courses on the following topics:

-Preface to online media;

-Search systems;

-HTML basics;

-Social networks;

-Google services and possibilities;

-Mobile technologies in journalism;

-Characteristics of blogging;

-Online publication specifics;

-Audio reporting;

-Production of photo essays and audio slide shows;

-Video reporting;

-Security and protection of private information on net;

-Internet strategy and business models.

The course will be conducted by Georgian and foreign trainers.

Any journalist with the minor experience in working with Microsoft Office programs and Internet is eligible to take part in the training.
