South Carolina University Helps GIPA Enhance Caucasus School of Journalism and Media Management
Within a three-year partnership project the US-based University of South Carolina is to help the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA) enhance the Caucasus School of Journalism and Media Management.
The project is being funded by the US Department of State with USD 750,000.
The partnership project is scheduled to be carried within 2010-2012. Smartening of the curriculum and teaching attitudes of the GIPA journalism school as well as the expansion of hands-on education and re-training of pedagogues is planned to be carried out. In addition the project includes the provision of semester teaching by the professors of the University of South Carolina at the Caucasus School of Journalism and Media Management as well as the purchase of technical equipments and other resources. The project is going to be conducive to the expansion of the prospective of the long-term sustainable development of the Caucasus School of Journalism and Media Management through a long-term institutional relation with the University of South Carolina.
