Radio Monte Carlo Journalist Shorena Karhchava Attacked by Two Strangers, online edition reports
On July 26 late at night the Radio Monte Carlo journalist Shorena Karhchava was attacked by two strangers.
The incident, online edition presa.ge informs, took place at 12:20 am on the bridge near Sarajishvili metro station.
According to the victim the strangers attacked her when crossing the bridge on his way home from office. She was approached from behind, she was silenced with a hand on her mouth and put a black sack on her head.
Reporting to presa.ge Shorena Karchava affirms the attackers didn't ask for either the bag or the cell phone she was then holding and trying to reach any number for help.
When the journalist tried to show resistance and began to shout the attackers dumped her from a five meter height into a hole nearby.
"When I started shouting they dumped me into a hole. One of he attackers whose face I could make out quite well followed me but after hitting him in panic he asked me to calm down telling he would save me. All of a sudden I saw strangers above offering help. They pulled me out and the stranger promising me to save left the spot with a slow pace," Shorena Karchava recollects.
The journalist asked the nearby moving patrol police crew for help. The officers called Avchala police and testified the victim. The Radio Monte Carlo journalist is discontent with the police activity. "Instead of announcing an immediate haunt after the offenders and interrogating the witnesses the Temqa and Avchala (districts in Tbilisi) police chiefs argued for an hour who the territory where the crime took place belonged to."
A small radio station Monte Carlo broadcasts in Tbilisi A short while ago the journalists' union Objective, accusing the authorities of misappropriating TV frequencies and frequently making political statements, produced radio programs. About a week ago the union quit implementing radio projects.
