Internews Network is seeking a Deputy Chief of Party candidate for a USAID-funded media support initiative with the general goal of further strengthening independent media in Georgia to enhance democracy, informed citizenry and accountability. The Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) will be hired on a full-time basis and will be based in Tbilisi. The DCOP will assist the Chief of party in overseeing all components of the program, including work with individual media outlets and other key stakeholders. The position requires general supervision and coordination of the different project components.

Duties and Responsibilities (illustrative):

-Assist the COP in overseeing all components of the program, including work with individual media outlets, media associations and other CSOs, schools of journalism, the Georgian National Communication Commission (GNCC), legislators, members of academia, government officials on national and local level, international and domestic NGOs working in the area of media and civil society development in Georgia; -Assist the COP in all reporting requirements; -Manage agreements with sub-grantees/subcontractors; -Required to travel extensively to regional project sites within Georgia for project management and monitoring purposes.

Qualifications (illustrative): -Master's or higher degree in Journalism, Political Science, International Studies, or other relevant field; -Thorough knowledge and understanding of media and civil society development issues in Georgia; -Professional experience in managing and implementing multi-component programs; -Demonstrated ability to effectively manage staff in Georgia; -Strong interpersonal skills to maintain good relations with relevant partners, USAID, international and domestic NGOs working in the area of media and civil society development in Georgia and other personnel associated with this program; -English and Georgian language fluency required.
