Contest Announced to Fill Vacant Seat at GPB Board of Trustees

Under the March 2 order by the President of Georgia an open contest has been announced to fill the vacant seat at the Board of Trustees of the Georgian Public Broadcasting (GPB).

The vacancy in the Board was created as a result of Zurab Kharatishvili's appointment to the position of the Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC).

Everybody enjoys a right to nominate a candidate for the Board within 30 days off of the announcement of the contest. Within 10 days off the expiration of the term President of Georgia shall publicize the list of nominees for the vacancy.

Under the same order by the President the contest secretariat was set up (address: Administration of President of Georgia, 1, Abdushelishvili St, Tbilisi).

In line with the legislation in force the President appoints the candidate following Parliament's approval of the nominee proposed by the President.

For registration applicants should submit the following documents to the contest secretariat:

- Witten application or nomination attached with the consent of the nominee; - Autobiography or CV; - One photo of the candidate; - Copy of high school diploma; - Copy of ID card; - Document proving at least five-year work experience; - Reference letter if available;

- Receipt on having got acquainted with the terms of conflict of interests stipulated in Article 23 of the Georgian Law on Broadcasting.
