Mass Media Trade Union Initiative Team Meets with Provisional Envoy of Swedish Embassy

The mass media trade union initiative team met with Andreas Tuveson, Provisional Envoy of Swedish Embassy.

According to the initiative team members citing Andreas Tuveson Sweden is ready to take part in the advancement of democratic reforms taking place in Georgia, with free media playing key role.

Gocha Alexandria, Deputy Chairman, Georgian Trade Unions' Confederation (GTUC) and Bob Fielding of the US trade unions attended the meeting.

A day earlier, on February 3 the mass media trade union initiative team met with Patricia Flor, German Ambassador to Georgia.

In the course of the meeting the initiative team introduced to the German diplomat the facts of mass violations of media workers' labor and social rights and requested for support with the implementation of the initiative.

German Ambassador gave a pledge on support and assistance.
