Youth Held Protest Rally at Imedi TV Premises
On January 26 Up to 40 students and schoolchildren, demanding the restriction of TV "propaganda for lewdness" held a protest rally in front of the Imedi TV premises.
The rally was organized by the students unions associated at the Georgian Orthodox Church, in particular Moral Choice, Future is Ours, Education and Unanimity as well as the pupils' union Bright Future.
One of the rally participants Levan Turashvili, student at Georgian Ecclesiastic Seminary told Media.ge that in the recent period the TV programmes aimed at "perverting" the youth tend to be more frequent.
According to Levan Turashvili the TV shows such as Night with Shorena and Time of Truth should be banned.
The rally organizers called upon the TV companies to quit the "propaganda of lewdness." The appeal has been handed over to Imedi TV.
Few days ago David Aghmashenebeli Union of Orthodox Parish submitted a complaint to Imedi TV demanding the prohibition of the Night with Shorena TV show.
Night with Shorena is distinguished with lewdness but the January 9 show was a direct mockery at virginity, history data was falsified as if Georgia is unfamiliar with virginity. Statistics data has been also forged according to which sexual relationship ahead of marriage makes family life stringer. It's a lie, falsehood," said Avtandil Ungiadze, head of David Aghmashenebeli Union of Orthodox Parish.
The examination of the appeal by Avtandil Ungiadze and his supporters is scheduled to be held on January 29, at 15:00 at Imedi TV. The discussion is open to anyone.
Night with Shorena is the show whose anchor tells the audience about the intimacy between a man and a woman.
The psychological game The Time of Truth, the joint project by TBC-TV Studio and Imedi TV is a Georgian version of American show THE MOMENT OF TRUTH.
