TV company Imervizia broadcasts its programs in Chiatura and Sachkhere districts, which border the territory of so-called South Ossetia from the west.

Due to the local relief Imervizia's signal reaches the villages situated in Java district controlled by South Ossetia's de-facto authorities. Therefore, the TV channel has been broadcasting the daily Ossetian-language newscast during the last several months. The newscast is produced by Georgian Public Broadcasting.

GIPA
The radio was based at the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs, (GIPA) therefore without much thinking the station assumed a name of GIPA. Initially they wanted to make a students radio. Then after applying to the Georgian National Communications Commission for the license they decided to make a far more serious channel.

Netgazeti.ge

Initially there were no plans about launching an online newspaper, the online version of the Batumelebi newspaper was intended but eventually the initiative was followed by the creation of an independent online edition Netgazeti.ge. In addition to news the web site offers its users analytical materials as well as interviews, in textual, audio or video form.

Country news and world music is heard through the nationwide Radiokalaki. The news stage in the history of the radio is dating back to August 2009. At the time Media Management Group obtained managerial rights over the radio frequency FM 101.9 from Radio Art company. Previously Media Management Group already owned an English-language newspaper Georgia Today and the Focus and Auto Bild magazines as well as the corporative editions of Radisson Blue Hotel, Tbilisi Marriott and Bank Republic.

Following the new management's coming into power the Radiokalaki coverage area spread over the whole of Georgia. The age of Radiokalaki audience, according to Giorgi Sharashidze, General Manager, ranges from 20 to 45.

TV broadcasting being conducted from an ordinary 14-story building in Tbilisi center, journalists rushing to interviews, editors producing stories, the program presenter getting ready to be on air. Everything seems to be similar to other TVs except one thing, ITV is available via net.

ITV is an Internet television, thus far the only one in the Georgian media market. Previously Gevision used to broadcast via net but due to financial problems it stopped functioning in December 2009.

The Maestro TV reorganization process is drawing to a close and from mid May the audience will be offered renewed programming. According to Maestro TV Director Kakha Bekauri Maestro TV will be much alike CNN and FOX NEWS.

The first edition of the newspaper came out in 1922 under the name of Zarya Vostoka («Заря Востока») until 1991. According to the 1991 order by the Board of Ministers the newspapers Molodiozh Gruzii («Молодежь Грузии») and Zarya Vostoka merged into a new edition named Vestnik Gruzii («Вестник Грузии») whose lifetime was limited to three months only. Since April 10, 1991 the newspaper has been coming out under the name of Svobodnaya Gruzia («Свободная Грузия»).

As early as in April 2007 influential US congressmen were trying to convince the representatives of President Bush's Administration to reverse the decision to cut the budget for Voice of America, because that proposal of US Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG) would stop broadcasting of all English-language radio programs aired by Voice of America except for the programs intended for African listeners.

Independent GNS studio is to celebrate its one year anniversary in October. The programme, Report of the Week produced by the studio is aired on Sundays, at 21:00 through Kavkasia TV.
